ADVANCED / SERVICE SCOPE
Tiered link building.
Separate direct links from links pointing to other placements. A tiered report needs destinations and observed status for every layer.
Explore the scope ↓- Best starting point
- A campaign uses more than one link layer and the buyer needs to distinguish submission attempts from live, relevant placements.
- Working artifact
- Tier, Source URL and the fields shown below.
- How to evaluate
- Check the output, implementation owner and acceptance evidence.
What the scope produces
- A tier map with a destination for each layer
- Separate counts for attempts and observed live URLs
- Placement checks with dates and evidence
- A report that does not treat tier totals as direct links to the site
What the work needs
The approved target URLs, the layer design and the definition of a completed placement.
A sample working artifact
Illustrative structure, not a client result. A completed record should make the work and its verification clear.
- Tier
- A specific value recorded for the engagement.
- Source URL
- A specific value recorded for the engagement.
- Destination URL
- A specific value recorded for the engagement.
- Attempt status
- A specific value recorded for the engagement.
- Live status
- A specific value recorded for the engagement.
- Checked date
- A specific value recorded for the engagement.
How the work moves forward
Map the layers
Name the destination of each tier and identify which layer points to the business website.
Define completion
Agree what counts as an attempt, a live link and a separately observed indexed page.
Check the report
Sample the actual URLs and retain the date of the observation.
Scope boundaries
Tier 2 and tier 3 are reporting layers, not a guarantee that authority reaches the target. Automated or paid link schemes can carry search-policy risk.
